Ductile iron is a family of cast graphitic irons which possess high strength, ductility and resistance to shock. Annealed cast ductile iron can be bent, twisted or deformed without fracturing. Functional Principle The spring-assisted DISCO non-return valve opens when the opening force exceeds the closing force . The opening force depends on the pressure or the volume flow, and the closing force on the tension of the closing spring, on the closing weight, on the installation position and the size of the non- return valve.

A hinged disc assembly is suspended from the body to allow it to move freely. This configuration minimizes pressure loss and eases fluid flow. Swing check valves can be used for either horizontal or vertical (fluid flowing upward) pipe layouts.
